This is kind of a two part question.
My macbook is about a year old and now one of the fans is constantly going and it heats up really fast. I think I need to get it replaced. Does anyone know round about how much it would cost?
Also my battery life has gone down a lot lately even when I'm not doing much i.e word processing only, would this be due to the fan going constantly?
Cheers.How much would it cost to change a macbook fan?Don't know your model of MacBook yet most go for around $50 USA here are a few ideas of the cost from a site, now if your under warranty I would recommend you take it in to have it looked at or you might have to send it in which please back up your hard drive and then send it in. If you are not under warranty then there are ways to replace it either you or a friend could help you replace the fan. As to the fan once you do get it fixed install smcFanControl which helps run the fan better ans gives you control of the speeds. Also this one of the main issues with a Mac laptop as to the noise as well as it getting dirty and needing replacing or cleaning. Even my laptop is a noise maker I just tap it every now and then learned that at YouTube not ready to buy a fan yet.

Your second query is yes the fan would drain your battery.
