Alldatapro doesn't list the parts prices, but you can call your local Mazda dealership to find out those prices. And do yourself a favor...if you do buy this car, get it serviced at a dealership. I have had lots of customers that get repairs made at independent shops, then come to us to fix the screwed up job that was done. A dealership is generally not that much more expensive than an independent. Mazda techs work on Mazdas. Independents work on everything.

A lot of that will depend on what phone you purchased with your original contract. Some phones are subsidized by the carriers a *lot* more than other phones. If your phones was a %26quot;Free%26quot; or $10/$20 with new 2 year contract kind of phone, they may not have been subsidizing the phone nearly as much as if the phone you purchased was a higher-end smart phone that they were selling for $199 with a 2 year contract. (Droid, Blackberry, windoze mobile etc.)
Also if you are moving from one Verizon plan to another, the %26quot;porting%26quot; of your number is instant. If going to another service provider, the porting process can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 24 hours - Typically under an hour. Again, do NOT cancel your existing contract without having already activated your new phone or you'll loose the number.
(I suggest going to a company store, not an authorized reseller such as bestbuy. You can find one on Verizon's web site. The reason is that an actual Verizon owned store may have a bit more pull with customer service..)

As soon as the number is ported to your new service provider, your contract with Verizon is automatically cancelled, then you need to go to Verizon to pay your ETF.
If you are moving to a new provider, I would highly suggest calling Verizon to check what the ETF is going to be, so you don't get any nasty surprises.
If, on the other hand the family plan you want to move to is also with Verizon, then go into a store and explain your situation to them. Since you'll still be a Verizon customer they may work with you a bit to keep you as a customer and might reduce the ETF even further. A lot of that will depend on what phone you purchased with your original contract. Some phones are subsidized by the carriers a *lot* more than other phones. If your phones was a %26quot;Free%26quot; or $10/$20 with new 2 year contract kind of phone, they may not have been subsidizing the phone nearly as much as if the phone you purchased was a higher-end smart phone that they were selling for $199 with a 2 year contract. Also if you are moving from one Verizon plan to another, the %26quot;porting%26quot; of your number is instant. If going to another service provider, the porting process can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 24 hours - Typically under an hour. Again, do NOT cancel your existing contract without having already activated your new phone or you'll loose the number.

I had my done by the dealer for about 85 dollars.
Also, I changed the fluid myself. The fluid is expensive for this car type. You need type IV.
I used Castrol and it took 4 quarts costing 6 bucks a piece.
So your looking at about 125-150 bucks if you do the tranny fluid yourself.

In auto's you have a torque convertor and pressure plate which takes up this torque before it goes through the crankshaft. Ya silly if ya do i only recommend this for GEN3 V8's. You'll need a donor car. Because you will need the transmission, possibly the radiator, new computer, transmission computer, wiring harness, pedal assembly, possibly rerouting of the fuel lines, parts to install the shifter in the car, flex-plate and torque converter, and that's just naming some of the larger parts you will need. The parts list will be much longer then that.
Now, you will have to have someone who is willing to do this. So you'll likely have to take it to a shop. And if you can find a shop who is willing to do this and warranty the work, then the price after everything is said and done, will be more then you would spend buying a vehicle with an automatic transmission.
When you get a number of people who say the best bet is to buy a vehicle with an automatic transmission, its because we know what is entailed (I have done a couple swaps, mainly for my OWN vehicles) and we know what you'll pay for a shop to do the work. We are here to try to offer our advice and give you some foresight from our experience.
Now, as far as what you do concerning your daughter, that's your choice, and I'd not presume to tell you what to do. However, I will tell you, when I was growing up, if my parents had gotten me a vehicle and I %26quot;refused to drive it because its a stick%26quot;, I'd have had the snot smacked out of me and not had a vehicle. Its my opinion that your daughter should be more grateful that you even got her a vehicle, many kids have parents that cannot or would not get their children a vehicle.
However, my advice to you is to either convince your daughter to learn to drive stick, or find a vehicle that has an automatic transmission already. The cost of changing yours will FAR outweigh the benefit.

Because you will need the transmission, possibly the radiator, new computer, transmission computer, wiring harness, pedal assembly, possibly rerouting of the fuel lines, parts to install the shifter in the car, flex-plate and torque converter, and that's just naming some of the larger parts you will need. The parts list will be much longer then that.
Now, you will have to have someone who is willing to do this. So you'll likely have to take it to a shop. And if you can find a shop who is willing to do this and warranty the work, then the price after everything is said and done, will be more then you would spend buying a vehicle with an automatic transmission.
When you get a number of people who say the best bet is to buy a vehicle with an automatic transmission, its because we know what is entailed (I have done a couple swaps, mainly for my OWN vehicles) and we know what you'll pay for a shop to do the work. We are here to try to offer our advice and give you some foresight from our experience.
Now, as far as what you do concerning your daughter, that's your choice, and I'd not presume to tell you what to do. However, I will tell you, when I was growing up, if my parents had gotten me a vehicle and I %26quot;refused to drive it because its a stick%26quot;, I'd have had the snot smacked out of me and not had a vehicle. Its my opinion that your daughter should be more grateful that you even got her a vehicle, many kids have parents that cannot or would not get their children a vehicle.
However, my advice to you is to either convince your daughter to learn to drive stick, or find a vehicle that has an automatic transmission already. The cost of changing yours will FAR outweigh the benefit.
